Who we are

Roleevo ("we," "us," or "our") operates Roleevo at https://roleevo.com, a career platform that helps job seekers manage resumes, collaborate in squads, receive feedback, and access market intelligence.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. If you have questions, contact us at [email protected].

Information we collect

We collect information you provide and information generated through your use of the service:

  • Account information: email address, password (stored in hashed form), and authentication tokens.
  • Profile information: headline, career goals, target roles, and optional LinkedIn verification data if you connect LinkedIn.
  • Resume and career content: uploaded files (PDF, DOCX, etc.), resume text, structured sections, analysis results, recruiter-view scans, and job descriptions you submit.
  • Collaboration data: squad membership, comments, highlights, bookmarks, and sharing settings you choose (private, squad, or public community).
  • Extension data: if you use our browser extension, job postings you choose to capture from supported job boards (e.g. Greenhouse, Lever).
  • Communications: messages you send us for support.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and logs needed for security and operation.

How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve Roleevo (including resume editing, AI suggestions, recruiter view, and market intelligence features).
  • Personalize your experience (for example, ranking market insights based on your target role or resume).
  • Enable sharing and feedback according to your visibility settings.
  • Authenticate you and protect against fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Send transactional emails (such as magic login links and account notices).
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.

AI and automated processing

Roleevo uses automated systems, including third-party artificial intelligence services, to analyze resumes, generate suggestions, power recruiter-view insights, and summarize public market data.

When you use these features, relevant portions of your content (such as resume text or job descriptions) may be transmitted to our AI providers for processing. Outputs are generated automatically and may be inaccurate or incomplete.

AI features are for informational purposes only. They do not constitute legal, HR, tax, or professional career advice.

Third-party services

We use service providers that process data on our behalf, including:

  • OpenAI and similar providers (AI processing of user-submitted content).
  • Google and LinkedIn (optional OAuth sign-in, if enabled).
  • Email delivery providers (account and authentication emails).
  • Cloud storage providers such as Amazon Web Services (resume file storage when configured).
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers for our application and API.

Market intelligence data

Roleevo displays aggregated career market information derived from public sources (such as public Reddit discussions, job board APIs, and layoffs.fyi). This data is not used to identify individual users of those external platforms.

We do not sell your personal resume content to third parties for their marketing purposes.

How we share information

We may share information in these circumstances:

  • With other users according to your sharing settings (squad members, public community viewers, etc.).
  • With service providers under contractual obligations to protect your data and use it only to provide services to us.
  • When required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice where required by law).

Data retention

We retain your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe subject to legal retention requirements.

Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

To exercise these rights, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of certain sharing (we do not sell personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under California law).

Cookies and similar technologies

Roleevo uses browser local storage to keep you signed in (authentication tokens). We may use essential cookies for security and session management.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies in the current version of the service. If we add analytics or non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this policy and provide appropriate choices where required by law.

You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential storage may prevent you from staying logged in.

Children

Roleevo is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact [email protected] if you believe we have collected a child's information.

International transfers

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your country.

Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date. Material changes may be communicated through the service or by email where appropriate.

Your continued use of the service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
